“Spiorad,” Gaelic for “Spirit,” is the first collaboration between Phil Munds, Principal Horn of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Bryan Rowe, an experienced composer, pianist, organist and choral director.
For those who envision the rolling hills and green valleys of the British Isles, the powerful open tones of the French horn and rhythmic piano melodies make this vision come alive while guiding the listener toward a sense of peace.
Both musicians have played in numerous national and international venues. Rowe’s performances include numerous organ concerts at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C., an organ performance at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London; a number of choral works with full orchestra, and several fundraising concerts along the East Coast, among countless other concerts and recitals.
Munds has performed at Carnegie hall, and completed extensive tours in Europe and Asia with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
As a composer, Rowe brings a distinct sound to the world of contemporary music. Described as melody-laden and profound, Rowe’s music is a fusion of Celtic, jazz and classical sounds. “My goal is to bring a sense of peace to listeners of my music,” Rowe states. Spiorad represents Rowe’s fourth CD, available at www.bryanrowe.net.
